10/25 – Families Gather for Spooky Science & STEM

GARDEN CITY, NY, October 16, 2019 – The Cradle of Aviation Museum’s new seasonally-themed Family Science Nights kicks off with Spooky Science on October 25th at 5pm with hands-on family fun and STEM activities for the whole family. Tickets are $8.00 per person; $5 for Museum Members.  All activities included with admission. It will be a fun night of science tricks & treats! $8.00 per person, $5 for Museum Members. Costumes encouraged!

Activities include: 

  • Witches Cauldrons: Learn your spells.  Mix a potion and see what happens!

  • Ghost Balloons: Create ghosts using materials you can find in the kitchen

  • FrankenToys: Make a creature by mixing and matching different animal parts.

  • Spark of Life: Frankenstein used electricity to bring his creature to life.  That same energy flows through us every day. See how you can be turned into a human battery!

  • Chemistry is Color: Explore the beautiful colors of Fall while creating a festive bookmark  

  • Halloween Catapult: Protect your candy with a Halloween Catapult.  Build and test your skills before taking home the very best in candy security. 

  • Imploding Pumpkin (Raffle) ; Guess how many rubber bands it takes to implode a pumpkin

  • Trick or Treat Planetarium: Attendees will search the sky looking for astronomy treats and discover some tricks in the night sky.

  • Plus face painting, and slime, mask and broom making the event partner, East Meadow Public Library  

Family Science Nights are designed to help families spend fun quality time together while building self-esteem, strengthening bonds, & creating memories.  With STEM occupations expected to grow to more than 9 million between 2012 and 2022*, Family Science Nights are an easy way to introduce & experience activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering , & Math.  Tickets can be purchased at www.cradleofaviation.org or 516-572-4066.
